Below you will find the instructions on how to install your frosted window film (AR01). The adhesive of your frosted window film contains air channels, so application without water is possible/desirable. If you are a novice with window film installation or are installing a large/long film, we advise you to use a mist of water on the glass, just a mist.
- Always keep your frosted window film (AR01) flat so that is does not bend/fold.
- Clean the window thoroughly. Remove paint, grease and other dirt. If any is left behind, it will always be visible!
- Also clean the surrounding area, like the window frame itself and your work environment. If you are installing near the ceiling and/or the ground make sure they are also clean. Also, beware of flying insects and pets.
- Use the supplied squeegee and card over the application-tape on the front/top of the frosted window film (AR01) to further increase the binding between the two. Use a sturdy flat surface, like a table. You can do this multiple times.
- Remove the backing paper. Carefully. When your frosted window film contains cut-outs/letters/elements, be very careful when removing the backing paper, as to not tear the frosted film itself, when parts remain stuck to the backing paper. Take your time, most mistakes occur here!
- You are supplied with air channel frosted window film (AR01). So no water is required. However, if you are inexperienced or are applying very large films with few cut-outs, you can use water, if you desire so. Use a plant sprayer to add a fine mist of water to the glass.
- Install the frosted window film with the application-tape to the window, position it at the preferred location.
- Never use the backing paper or the application tape/transfer tape to position the frosted window film on the glass. Always use the frosted window film itself to correctly position the window film. So you correctly position the film at the correct location.
- Use your supplied free squeegee. Start with carding in the middle/center of the frosted window film and move horizontal or vertical with overlapping movements towards the edge of the frosted window film. During which you hold the frosted window film a couple centimeters (2 inches) above the window/surface itself.
- Check to see if there is still any air trapped between the window film and the window itself. In the rare occasion that air is still trapped between the window and the window film. Gently push the air bubble to the edge of the window film (nearest part of the window not covered with window film). No need to use force.
- If you do not succeed without using force, use a pinprick to burst the air bubble.
- Allow the adhesive of the frosted window film enough time to stick to the window. So that removing the application tape does not lift the frosted window film (AR01) from the window/surface. Remove the application tape after a couple of hours.
- If, when removing the application tape, you lift the frosted window film from the glass. Wait 24 to 48 hours before removing the application tape.
